Binding Decision Released on Canadian League Dressage World Cup Final
(Canada) - Equine Canada announces that on March 21 the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada released a binding decision on the complaint lodged by Canadian Dressage rider Evi Strasser of Saint-Adele, QC. The complaint was in regards to the Dressage Canada Selection Committee’s decision to allow an exemption from the published criteria for fellow Dressage rider Jacqueline Brooks. The exemption effectively allowed her to compete in the Canadian League Dressage World Cup Final held November 8-9, 2006, at the Royal Horse Show in Toronto, ON.

Canada's Gwynne Rook Awarded FEI Dressage Steward Status
(Canada) - Dressage Canada is pleased to announce that Canadian Dressage Steward Gwynne Rooke of Stouffville, ON has been awarded FEI Steward Status.
Rooke was given FEI Dressage Steward Status in early 2007, after being nominated by the Dressage Canada Officials Committee for consideration in November 2006. The FEI, upon reviewing Rooke’s application, approved the status.

FEI World Cup™ Dressage: Home Crowd Cheers For Favorites Brink and Kyrklund
(Gothenberg, Sweden) - Snow and heavy weather could not prevent the knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience of 10,800 people in the Gothenburg Scandinavium Arena to cheer as loud as could be for Swedish favourite Jan Brink and the great 16 year old stallion Briar. Jan Brink did a wonderful Freestyle with a fresh and happy Briar. His first passage was rewarded with the mark 9 and the piaffes were very good as well.

FEI World Cup™ Dressage Amsterdam: Third Consecutive Win For Imke Schellekens-Bartels in World Cup™ Qualifier
(Amsterdam, Netherlands) - Dutch Imke Schellekens-Bartels, who was already leading the rankings after winning the two FEI World Cup™ qualifiers in London-Olympia and Mechelen in Amsterdam, claimed her third consecutive win this weekend. As the hot favorite she did not disappoint the home crowd.

Dutch Stallion Roemer Inducted into the USDF Hall of Fame - Terri Miller Painting to be Displayed in Lexington
(USA) - Iron Spring Farm’s Dutch stallion Roemer was inducted into the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Hall of Fame in December at the USDF Annual Convention. The stallion, who excelled both as a grand prix dressage horse and an important sport horse sire, joined a list of luminaries that includes Sally Swift, Lowell Boomer and Keen. Roemer is the first breeding stallion to be included in the Hall of Fame.

(Sweden) - Three Swedes took the top placings on home soil in the FEI World Cup Dressage Grand Prix Kür held in Stockholm at the Globe this weekend. “Harmony, balance, and dance is what secured the top three placings for the Swedish”, said fellow Swede and international judge Birgitta Bergsten. Home favorite Jan Brink and his beautifully moving and proud stallion Briar headed the Swedish coup, winning the competition on a score of 78.90 percent.

United States Dressage Federation Signs Jane Savoie for Adult Clinic Series in 2007-2008
(USA) - The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) is pleased to announce that Jane Savoie, who has been a member of the United States Equestrian Team and a popular clinician and author, is clinician for the nine adult clinics beginning in 2007. USEF High-Performance Dressage Committee Names Debbie McDonald As USEF Dressage Developing Coach
(USA) - The United States Equestrian Federation® (USEF) High-Performance Dressage Committee has appointed Debbie McDonald to the position of USEF Dressage Developing Coach for the remainder of 2006 and through December 31, 2007. This appointment is one of many steps being taken toward expanding the USEF Dressage Developing Program. In this new role, McDonald’s responsibilities will include increasing awareness and visibility of the USEF Dressage Developing Program and furthering the education of riders, trainers and owners about specific aspects of proper training for competition at the high-performance level. Working in close cooperation with the U.S. team coach, the USEF director of high-performance dressage and the USEF dressage committees, she will also conduct training sessions and attend championships to observe and coach competitors, as well as identify prospects for further training and observation.

German Dressage Trainers: An Export Bestseller
(Aachen, Germany) - Their know-how is highly appreciated all over the world: Germany's dressage trainers are a real export hit. Around half of all of the foreign dressage riders are coached by German trainers. Some of the professional instructors have contracts as "National Coaches", others prepare individual riders for Championships. Many of these partnerships have been in place for years, but also short-term engagements commencing a few weeks before the FEI World Equestrian Games were not an exception to the rule. Courtney King Earns Four East Coast Rider’s Cup Championships at Centerline Events at HITS on the Hudson CDI*** Saugerties
(Bedford, NY) – Courtney King of Bedford, New York, reigned supreme at HITS on the Hudson CDI *** in Saugerties, New York, which hosted the East Coast Rider’s Cup Championships, August 18-20, claiming four of the championship titles. King brought eight horses to the event and competed in up to 12 classes each day, spanning Training Level through Grand Prix. “All the horses did so well,” said King. “I am so pleased to have so many different horses showing successfully at so many different levels.” Remarkably, King never uses a reader to call the movements for her, riding each test from memory at every level.

The official U.S. Dressage Team for the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games will be announced on August 14, the week prior to the commencement of the competition in Aachen, Germany. The Games will be held from August 20 to September 3, 2006, with the dressage competition taking place August 22-26.

Hat Tricks for Gibson and Petersv at USET Foundation Festival of Champions on Freestyle Sunday
(Gladstone, NJ, USA) - There’s nothing better than a hat-trick, but how about a hat-trick times three…all three championships held at the USET Foundation Festival of Champions were clean sweeps by Rebecca Hart, Michelle Gibson and Steffen Peters. Hart was the winner of all three classes that make up the 2006 USEF National Para-Equestrian Championship, Gibson took the honors winning all three of her classes to in the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Intermediaire I Dressage Championship, and Peters took home top honors by winning all three classes in the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Grand Prix Dressage Championship.

Inaugural Brentina Cup Winner and Her Home-Bred Stallion Turn in a Top Performance Despite Having Mono
(Gladstone, NJ, USA) – The inaugural Brentina Cup was awarded to the winner of the USEF National Young Adult Dressage Championship today as part of the USET Foundation Dressage Festival of Champions. Elisabeth Austin of Williston, VT and her 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion, Olivier scored a 70.39% on their FEI Intermediaire II test despite it being only his ninth show ever and only his third recognized FEI competition.
