124th National Horse Show and Family Festival is a Go in Wellington
(Wellington, FL, USA) - "We are pleased to announce that the 124th National Horse Show and Family Festival will go on as planned," reported Mason Phelps Jr., Chairman of the National Horse Show Association of America Ltd. "In a unanimous vote, the Board of Directors of the NHSAA decided today to move forward with the show in Wellington." USEF Task Force Makes Recommendations on Safety and Accident Preparedness
(Lexington, KY) - The Task Force formed by USEF to review current safety procedures at USEF licensed competitions has recently made certain recommendations as part of an effort to monitor safety standards in equestrian sport. In formulating the following recommendations, the Task Force collaborated with other sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, as to how those sports address safety issues.

Kentucky Horse Park Foundation Opens The Farmhouse to Essential Horse Park Donors

(Lexington, KY, USA) - Till recently, few people realized the hidden value of a seemingly inconspicuous house located on the corner of Nina Bonnie Bldv. and Cigar Lane in the Kentucky Horse Park. The Farmhouse, originally built as a farm manager's residence in 1924, has been gradually deteorating over time, being overshadowed by the surrounding growth of the Kentucky Horse Park in recent years. The family that owned the farm land suffered a loss in the late 1960s and subsequently split up and sold the land, which the Kentucky Horse Park now sits on.

USEF Announces 2008 Location and Dates for the North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championships

USEF Approves Use of New NSAID Firoxib Beginning August 1st, 2007
(USA) - The Board of Directors of the United States Equestrian Federation has approved the use of the new Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) EQUIOXX® (firocoxib). This new NSAID is the first highly COX-1 sparing drug to be FDA approved for use in horses.

(Lake Placid, NY) - Exhibitors, spectators, and sponsors were invited to attend an informal reception on June 29 at the Lake Placid Horse Show Hall of Fame Room in Lake Placid, NY. Hosted by Stadium Jumping Inc., guests were welcomed by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Eugene R. Mische, who graciously introduced the new president of Stadium Jumping, Mr. John Canavan. Photographs of legendary horsemen lined the walls, which provided guests with both memories and inspiration for the future of equestrian sport.

USEF Announces Joint Membership Card with USDF
(Lexington, KY) - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), announced today that effective June 28th United States Dressage Federation members, who have an active USDF participating membership and are USEF members, can now obtain one joint USEF/USDF membership card as opposed to two separate cards. Federal Government of Canada Invests $409,000 in Support of the Ongoing International Development Work of Equine Canada’s Breeds & Industry Division

(USA) - The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that Lauren Kieffer and Tigger Too were presented with the 2007 Markham Trophy on Sunday at the Jersey Fresh CCI***, which ran from May 31 - June 3.
The Markham Trophy is awarded to the highest placed rider under the age of 21 at the USEF CCI*** Spring Championship, which was held at Jersey Fresh. Kieffer was partnered with Tigger Too, a chestnut gelding owned by her trainer David O'Connor.

(USA) - The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that Bonnie Mosser and Merloch were presented with the 2007 Gladstone Trophy on Sunday at the Jersey Fresh CCI***, which ran from May 31 - June 3.
The Gladstone Trophy is awarded to the highest placed American rider at the USEF CCI*** Spring Championship, held at the Jersey Fresh CCI***. In addition to being the highest placed American, Mosser was also the overall victor of the division, finishing on a score of 48.7.

Stadium Jumping Announces Location For New Showgrounds - Wellington Preserve To Be Home To New World-Class Showgrounds

Gene Lewis: Remembering an American Equestrian Legend

New USEF Show Jumping Developing Young Rider Tour Announced - Submit Applications by April 20, 2007

New USEF 'Opportunity Classes' Offer More Showing Options For Exhibitors and Competition Management
(Lexington, KY) - In an effort to allow more flexibility and more classes at USEF licensed competitions and to get more people involved in showing horses, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has initiated new opportunities for exhibitors to compete at particular competitions. A new rule was approved by the Executive Committee on February 20, 2007 with an effective date of April 1, 2007.
