USEF Names 2008 U.S. Olympic Eventing Team
(Lexington, KY) - Pending US Olympic Committee approval, the USEF has named the following horse/rider combinations to the 2008 US Olympic Team in Eventing. These five combinations will represent the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games, the Equestrian portion of which will be held in Hong Kong, beginning on August 8.

USA Veterinarians BW Furlong and Associates Will Accompany US and Canadian Eventers to Equestrian Olympics in Hong Kong

Furlong and Associates Equine Veterinary Practice in Oldwick, New Jersey will send a team of four veterinarians to the equestrian competition of the Olympic Games in Hong Kong this summer to make sure that the equine participants are well looked after.

Kentucky Summer Horse Shows Upgrade Footing with Otto Sport Surfaces
(Lexington, KY) - Kentucky Horse Shows LLC, the management company for the Kentucky Summer Horse Shows, is thrilled to announce that the Kentucky Horse Park's Walnut Ring will be resurfaced with Otto Sport- und Reitplatz GmbH footing surfaces. Otto Sport- und Reitplatz GmbH will provide the riding surfaces for the Outdoor Stadium Complex at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in September and October of 2010.

Jessica Kurten's Suspension Put On Hold
The FEI has been informed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that the suspension of Jessica Kürten (IRL) has been provisionally put on hold starting on 15 July 2008. The suspension was the result of a prohibited substance being found in horse Castle Forbes Maike, ridden by Kurten at the international jumping show La Baule in 2007.

Five Show Jump Clean at USEF Eventing Mandatory Outing for the 2008 Olympic Games
(Norwood, NC_ - There were no ribbons and no winners, but today was as important as any competition day in the lives of the 10 horses preparing for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team in Eventing. The horses, along with five who have been preparing in England, are on the USEF Short List for Eventing, from which the Team for the 2008 Olympic Games will be selected on Monday.

Eventers Begin Final Chapter on the Road U.S. Olympic Team in Eventing
(Norwood, NC) - Ten event horses from the USEF Short List for Eventing made the trip to Jim Cogdell's The Fork Stables in Norwood, NC for the final mandatory outing for the 2008 Olympic Games. Five horse/rider combinations from the Short List competed at the Barbury Castle CIC*** last weekend in England and per the selection procedures riders were allowed to choose which one to contest.

Dressage Canada Announces Line Up Change to the 2008 Olympic Dressage Team
(Canada) - Christilot Boylen has informed the Dressage Canada Olympic Selection Committee that she will not travel to Hong Kong with Gachino as the Reserve Combination for the 2008 Olympic Games. The Reserve position requires that the combination travel with the three team combinations to be ready to compete at the Olympic Games if the need arises as a substitution can occur up until one hour before the first Horse Inspection at the Olympic Games.

(Aachen, Germany) - Germany secured a back-to-back double of wins in the 2008 Samsung Super League with FEI series when coming out on top in a tough battle in Aachen tonight.
Fresh from their triumph in Rotterdam two weeks ago the home team was highly impressive in the opening round, but as the second half evolved it seemed very possible that they could be forced into a jump-off with the eventual runners-up from The Netherlands as the game of cat-and-mouse that is regularly played between these two sides in recent times looks set to continue.

(Kreuth, Germany) - The fourth and last CRI ** in Germany this year was part of the NRHA Breeders Derby at Kreuth where eleven competitors from Germany, Austria, Russia and South Africa took part. The podium was resolutely German with Nico Hoermann clenching gold on a score of 219 riding the American Quarter Horse stallion Big Time Rooster.

(Oklahoma City, OK, USA – Under the lights at the Oklahoma State Fair Park, Craig Schmersal bested some of the top reiners in the country to win the 2008 Adequan®/United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) National Open Reining Championship presented by Equine Motorcoach. Schmersal, an Oklahoma native, won the title along with his share of the $25,000 in added money. The USEF championship was part of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Derby.

Specialty LIcense Plate Planned For 2010 ALLTECH FEI World Equestrian Games - Applications for License Plate Available Online
(exington, KY USA) - LEXINGTON, KY—A specialty Kentucky license plate may soon be available in celebration of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
In order for these plates to be produced, at least 900 applications and deposits must be submitted to the World Games 2010 Foundation. If 900 applications are not received by September 30, 2008, all applications and fees will be returned.

(Aachen, Germany) - Will Simpson and El Campeon’s Carlsson vom Dach will replace Jeffery Welles and Armani at the CHIO Aachen July 1-6, 2008.

$215,000 Hagyard Challenge Series Boosts Competition at Kentucky Summer Horse Shows
