(Las Vegas, NV, USA) - There were even more surprises in store in the closing competition of the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Finals this afternoon in Las Vegas where Switzerland's Beat Mandli reigned supreme with Ideo du Thot.
In a class that seemed to be choreographed to produce maximum drama, Daniel Deusser rocketed up from overnight 14th to take second place while fellow-German Markus Beerbaum and Switzerland's Steve Guerdat finished joint-third.

Rolex FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final Las Vegas: Isabell Werth Wins Grand Prix
(Las Vegas, NV, USA) - The dressage riders were the first on board at the second FEI World Cup™ Jumping and Dressage Finals being held simultaneously at the Thomas and Mack Center today for their first Grand Prix test. Tension played a decisive role, and it was quite a difficult class to judge as no rider went without mistakes. However, it was Germany's Isabell Werth who came out on top, winning the class with a fantastic score of 74.792%.

Blue Hors Matine & Paracco Out of Contention
(Las Vegas, NV, USA) - Denmark's Andreas Helgstrand announced in an afternoon press conference that his horse would not compete due to lameness. One of the favorites leading into the dressage competition, Blue Hors Matine, the striking 10-year-old grey Danish Warmblood that entertained and surprised the crowds at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, by taking the Individual Bronze and Silver in the grand prix special and the freestyle respectively, was pulled after the mare showed fluid gathering around her front left pastern.
Paracco, a U.S. entry in the Las Vegas International Dressage competition, was also withdrawn by his rider Jeremy Steinberg. Steinberg cited similar reasons as not wanting to take any chances with his horse as the reason for his decision.

Rolex FEI Show Jumping World Cup Final: Levy Leads The Way
(Las Vegas, NV, USA) - America's Kate Levy was drawn first to go in the first leg of the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final at the Thomas & Mack Centre in Las Vegas tomorrow. The Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping title will be decided after three competitions which begin with Thursday's Speed leg followed by a power-jumping test in Friday's Grand Prix and the finale takes place over a Table A two-round class in which riders compete in reverse order of merit. The overall winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties after the three Final competitions.

The 37-year old rider last competed in the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas two years ago and it was an occasion he will never forget.
