The Cross Country day of the 2005 Blenheim Petplan European Eventing Championship was one of breathless competition that produced fantastic sport. Despite the torrential rain, Mike Etherington-Smith’s 28-fence 5910 m course rode very well causing only two riders to fall neither of whom suffered any serious consequences.

(Great Britain) - The second Dressage day of the 2005 FEI Blenheim Petplan European Eventing Championship was just as exciting and filled with sporting excellence as the first one. Despite some very strong performances, Bettina Hoy on the Irish Thoroughbred Ringwood Cockatoo retains the lead, while Pippa Funnell and Ensign continue in runner-up position. What is different today is 3rd place, which is shared between Britain's own Zara Phillips on Toytown and Germany's Frank Ostholt on Air Jordan both of whom are only 0.2 point behind Pippa on the equal score of 38. In the team competition, Gerrmany is in the lead, followed by Great Britain and France in third.

(Great Britain) - The first Dressage day of the FEI Blenheim Petplan European Eventing Championship was one of elegance and balance. The level of Eventing Dressage has dramatically improved over the last years and today some truly inspiring performances took place. But the best of them all was unquestionably Bettina Hoy's ride on Ringwood Cockatoo who scored an outstanding 31.3, which puts the pair in the lead by a comfortable margin. Unexpectedly, Pippa Funnell's Ensign, who is not exactly a hardworking Dressage star, performed his best test to date and was rewarded by an impressive 37.8. The two ladies are followed by France's Didier Willefert on Escape Lane*Mili with 40.2.
