Iron Spring Farm and Friesian World Mourn Loss of Heinse 354

(Coatesville, PA, USA) - Iron Spring Farm lost a beloved member of the family when Heinse 354 succumbed to colic last week. The 15-year-old stallion was known for his impressive performance career as both a dressage and driving horse, as well as for his successful offspring, which includes three approved sons. The handsome Friesian exemplified the best traits of the breed-beauty, athletic ability and an excellent temperament-and is already missed.

Equine Canada Update on Procedures for Fresh Equine Semen Imports from the United States
(Ottawa, ON, Canada) — Equine Canada wishes to notify the Canadian equine industry that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) stated at close of business on Friday, April 24, 2009, that import protocols for fresh equine semen from the United States are based on the January 30, 2009, requirements. While it is expected that revised procedures will be announced shortly, new procedures cannot take effect until the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) officially mandates all of its regional offices to comply.

Belgian Warmblood Studbook Approves 20 New Stallions
(Belgium) - After the several tests of the third phase, spread over 3 days and one day of rest, there came an end to the 2009 stallion selection procedure.
The new crop consists of 20 stallions: 5 of them are approved as dressage stallions, 15 as jumping stallions. Another 6 candidates could not participate because of various injuries and will get a second chance at the additional third phase.

Lingh Now Approved As Swedish Warmblood Stallion

(Sweden) - The Swedish Warmblood Association of North America, SWANA, is pleased to announce that the KWPN Grand Prix dressage stallion Lingh has been approved as a Swedish breeding stallion for North America. Lingh has been selected to be a featured stallion at the National Stud in Sweden, Flyinge, for the 2009 breeding season.

An exciting young 1st Premium stallion, Meinse was imported earlier this year after receiving scores as high as 70 percent at the Pavo Stallion Competition at L level in the Netherlands.

KWPN-NA Announces 2008 Keuring Schedule
(Sutherlin, OR, USA) - The KWPN of North America, the Dutch Warmblood Studbook, has announced its 2008 keuring schedule. Visitors are invited to the keuringen to watch foals, mares, geldings and stallions being inspected by KWPN judges from the Netherlands and North America.
