His first four-star win – and on his first attempt at this level.

(Malmo, Sweden) - Marina Köhncke, a member of the German squad at the Sydney Olympics, led from start to finish to win the HSBC FEI World Cup™ Eventing at Malmo Horse Show (SWE) on Calma Schelly. Her compatriot, Olympic gold medallist Peter Thomsen, was second on Parko 4 and, following this fifth leg of the HSBC FEI World Cup™ Eventing, the two German riders have qualified for the Final at Strzegom (POL) in August.

(Ottawa, ONT, Canada) - The winning ways of Canadian event horse Colombo have secured him yet another top honour in his illustrious career—Omega Alpha Canadian Event Horse of the Month.
Colombo, a 14-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding, owned by Elaine and Michael Davies of Kingston, ON, finished as the top Canadian entry at the prestigious Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, the only four star three-day event in the Americas, held April 23-26, 2009, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, USA, the site of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

(England) - Great Britain's own Oliver Townend realised a lifelong dream when he won the 60th anniversary Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and, at 26, became the youngest British rider to win since the likes of Ginny Elliot and Lucinda Green in the 1980s and 1970s.

(England) - Suspense was maintained right to the end of the day at The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials (GBR) with surprises aplenty as the top-placed riders brought Cross-Country day to a stirring close. British riders Oliver Townend and Lucy Wiegersma, who both picked up HSBC FEI Classics™ points at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event two weeks ago, finished on the same leading score. However, Townend, the last competitor of the day, prevails as he was 7 seconds inside the optimum time while Wiegersma was agonisingly outside it by what may well prove to be an expensive 2 seconds.

(Lexington, KY, USA) – The top two places shuffled but the names on top of the leaderboard remained the same after the cross country at the 2009 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. Australia’s Lucinda Fredericks had a lightning fast round on her chestnut mare Headley Britannia. Trying to duplicate her husband Clayton’s winning feat in 2007, Fredericks blazed around and made the optimum time of 11 minutes despite having to go the long way at the Head of the Lake.

Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event: Germany's Bettina Hoy Heads Leaderboard After Dressage Phase With Record Score
(Lexington, KY, USA) – The American riders had some catching up to do after the first day of dressage at the 2009 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. The European riders swept the top three places after Thursday and the US riders returned on Friday to find only a little bit of room at the top of the leaderboard. Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event: Dutch Rider Tim Lips Leads European Sweep on First Day of Dressage
(Lexington, KY, USA) – The 2009 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event got off to a flying start at the Kentucky Horse Park. In the spectacular brand-new Main Stadium, 24 of the field of 50 went to task in the dressage ring. The Colorado Horse Park Expands Eventing Season; David O'Connor and Gina Miles Headline Clinic Schedule
(Parker, CO, USA) - The Colorado Horse Park kicks off an exciting season of eventing on May 2 with the Eventing Derby. This is followed by the highly anticipated Colorado Horse Park CCI** on May 29-31. National Eventing Safety Officers Hold Meeting at Hartpury
(England) - A meeting of the Eventing Safety Officers, appointed by the National Federations (NFs) in the framework of the global Eventing Safety Programme the FEI is developing, took place on 24 and 25 January at Hartpury, UK. The meeting was very productive as it allowed the representatives of 25 National Federations to make presentations on the integration of the 2008 Copenhagen Safety Forum recommendations, new safety ideas, practical actions and level of development of the sport and concerns typical of each country.
