First 2010 North American HSBC FEI Eventing World Cup Qualifier to Run at Red Hills Horse Trials
(Florida, USA) - The first HSBC FEI Eventing World Cup Qualifier kicks off the 2010 FEI Eventing season in the United States. Back on the calendar after a hiatus in 2009, the Red Hills Horse Trials in Tallahassee, FL is always a popular feature of the spring season. This year it runs March 4-7.

FEI Launches New Eventing Risk Management Program

(Malmo, Sweden) - A new worldwide Eventing Risk Management Policy and Action Plan aimed at reducing cross-country horse falls was launched at the third annual FEI Safety meeting in Malmö, Sweden, today. Based on a six-year statistical study of the sport, the Action Plan will be a functional and reliable system that will be used to monitor risk factors in Eventing, and to streamline international data and ideas to further understand the root causes of falls.

Capt. Mark Phillips to Retire in 2012; Search Committee Forming to Find Successor

Mark Phillips has announced his retirement as Chef d’Equipe and Technical Advisor following the London Olympic Games to “give someone else the opportunity to put their stamp on the program.”

2010 USEF Eventing High Performance Training Lists Announced
The Eventing High Performance Training Lists have been revised for the 2010 season. Horse/Rider combinations will be invited to participate in training sessions this winter with Mark Phillips. It is anticipated that training sessions will be held in California, Florida, and South Carolina; dates will be finalized and published in December. A List riders may also receive training grants.

Martin Maintains Top Spot in Soggy CCI*** at 2009 Dansko Fair Hill International

(Lexington, KY, USA) - Cross-country day has come and gone at the USEA North American Junior & Young Rider Eventing Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park. It was a day full of athletic horses cruising around the course and strong riders enjoying every minute of it. The start time was delayed an hour due to strong storms that moved through the area, but the weather improved as the competition went on. The course, designed by Olympic Gold medalist David O’Connor, looked dashing as the horses and riders left the start box.

Meydan FEI Nations Cup™ 2009: Falsterbo Competition Report
(Falsterbo, Sweden) - Three second-round clears secured victory for Ireland at the sixth leg of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup™ series in Falsterbo, Sweden this afternoon where the winning side's Darragh Kerins and Night Train and French rider Olivier Guillon and Lord de Theize registered the only completely fault-free performances. It very nearly came down to yet another two-way jump-off against the clock to decide the winner, but the home team from Sweden had to settle for runner-up spot when anchorman Rolf-Goran Bengtsson's inexperienced mare Kiara La Silla faulted in the closing stages.

Call for Nominations for Positions on the Equine Canada Canadian Eventing Committee
(Ottawa, ON) - The Canadian Eventing Committee (CEC) is a sub-committee of Equine Canada (EC). Equine Canada is the body that governs all equestrian sport in Canada (except thoroughbred racing), and represents Canadian equestrian sport to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), to the Canadian Olympic Committee, and to the Canadian Government through Sport Canada (a major source of funding for the CEC). The CEC provides input and direction to Equine Canada in all matters concerning eventing, as those matters may relate to each of the above organizations. The CEC has two seats on Sport Council; the chair of the CEC and the chair of High Performance.
