Olympic Dressage Rider Bent Jensen Entertains Crowd With Las Vegas-Style Performance To Win Dressage Under The Stars Competition

(Wellington, FL, USA) - Olympic dressage rider Bent Jensen knows how to entertain a crowd, and he did just that with a Las Vegas-style performance that landed him in the winner’s circle at the Players Club & Restaurant’s most recent Top Shelf Dressage Under the Stars competition. Jensen, wearing glasses and a wizard’s hat, turned in an outstanding passage tour set to electrifying music to win the evening’s competition on his 13-year-old Dutch gelding Liberty Light.

FEI WORLD CUP™ DRESSAGE 2009/2010 - REVISED LIST FOR FINAL
The line-up for the final of the 2009/2010 FEI World Cup™ Dressage series which will take place at 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands from 25-27 March has been revised. The USA and Canadian Federations have confirmed that, due to health issues for either horses or riders, there will be no representatives from the North American League, so the two available slots will now be taken by reserve riders.

The inaugural Hall of Fame Gala celebrating these dressage icons is set for Sunday, April 25th, 2010, at Toronto’s Eglinton Grand Theatre. Net proceeds from the gala will go to Canadian dressage athletes in their pursuit of excellence at the 2010 World Equestrian Games (WEG).

Dressage Canada Announces New Board, Ratifies Committee Chairs
(USA) - The 2010 Dressage Canada Board met face-to-face for the first time this year at the Equine Canada Convention, held early February, in Montreal, QC. The group welcomed new members Michaela Eisengruber, Courtenay Fraser, and Renee Young, as well as two new athlete representatives — long-time competitors Nancy MacLachlan and Gina Smith. Also new this year is the addition of three committee representatives on the board.

(Olympia, London, GBR) - The Netherlands' Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas set a new world record in the Grand Prix Freestyle for the third time this year when scoring 92.30% to win the fourth leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage series at the Grand Hall at Olympia in London tonight. With another breath-taking performance that put him in an entirely different class to the rest of the 13-strong field, the nine year old stallion showed even more confidence than he displayed when taking Freestyle gold at the Alltech FEI European Championships at Windsor last August. Stockholm winner Adelinde Cornelissen had a difficult evening with Parzival who was gripped with nervous tension and failed to give of his best, but this Dutch duo still held on for second place, while British hearts were lifted by a great third-spot finish for one of their all-time favorites, Carl Hester with Liebling 11.

(Odense, Denmark) - Anky Van Grunsven, won the opening leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage series in Odense, Denmark today with a great Freestyle ride from her Olympic champion Salinero. So often recently the Dutch star has been frustrated by her gelding's unwillingness to be still in halt, but today the 15 year old horse conquered his anxiety to produce a lovely test that pleased the judging panel of Wim Emes (Ned), Jean-Michel Roudier (Fra), Kurt Christensen (Den), Jacques van Daele (Bel) and Gotthilf Riexinger (Ger) to earn a winning score of 81.450.

Van Grunsven had set the score to beat at 84.50 percent with a highly technical choreography. And yet Steffen Peters still managed to go one better, claiming his third victory at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen with a score of 85.60 percent.

Weather Wins the War at the 2009 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions; Five New National Champions Crowned
(Gladstone, NJ, USA) - After a four day battle, the rain finally won at the 2009 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions, and collectively the Ground Jury and the management decided that, in the best interest of the horses, the competition was suspended after the Young Riders rode first thing Sunday morning.
