(Cannes, France) - A bold new four-nation, three-year transatlantic dressage series, the Exquis World Dressage Masters, to be launched in 2009 with total prize money of at least $460,000 a year was announced Friday at this French Riviera resort.

Canadians Karen Pavicic and Pia Fortmuller Win Gold at Sydney CDI3* Invitational in Australia
(Canada) - Karen Pavicic of Richmond, BC, and Pia Fortmuller of DeWinton, AB, won the team gold medal at the Sydney CDI3*/CDI–Y International Dressage Derby held in Sydney, Australia, May 1– 3, 2008. The event, hosted at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park, site of the 2000 Olympic Games, is the only CDI3* held in Australia each year.

New Draft and Survey for USEF Dressage Performance Standards Proposal Now Available
(USA) - The USEF Dressage Committee has released a new draft of the Performance Standards Proposal for review and feedback from USDF and USEF members. This proposal would establish a qualification process for competing at Fourth Level and above at USEF-Licensed Dressage Competitions beginning with the 2011 competition year.

(Wellington, FL, USA) - Top FEI competitor, Susan Dutta, retired her famous grand prix partner of many years, Gumshoes DC, a 17 year-old Dutch gelding in a touching ceremony held in the International ring at the Zada Enterprises CDI show in Wellington. Her husband, Tim Dutta, son Timmy and groom, Robbie Sanderson accompanied Gumshoes into the ring where a well-deserved shawl of red flowers draped his shoulders.

(USA) - Continuing the successful partnership that delivered a host of dressage championships last year for the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), Collecting Gaits Farm renew their commitment to dressage as the title sponsor of the 2008 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions. To be held in San Juan Capistrano, CA on two separate weekends, June 20-22 and June 27-29, this year the Dressage Festival of Champions will also serve as the USEF Selection Trials for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team in Dressage.

A crowd of 6500 watched the hard fight between Isabell Werth and Anky van Grunsven for the win. The first blow is half the battle and in the first test Grand Prix Thursday night Isabell Werth became the winner.

After scoring 72.55% in the Grand Prix Freestyle, King and Idocus finished the competition maintaining their #1 rank in the league and will be one of two combinations to represent the United States at the FEI World Cup Final.

(Neumunster, Sweden) - It was no surprise that title defender Isabell Werth won her third FEI World Cup™ victory in Neumünster after having also won in Odense and Frankfurt earlier in the season. The surprise however was the sold out seats at the Holstenhalle arena. The Scandinavians took all the FEI World Cup™ tickets they could possibly get. “I suggest we will continue in having the last decisive qualifier in Neumünster, as it worked out as a really ‘Krimi’ here”, the chairman of the judges Mariette Withages enthusiastically commented.

(Amsterdam, The Netherlands) - In the week before Jumping Amsterdam, all Dutch press, radio and television had commented on the new Freestyle of Olympic champion Anky van Grunsven composed by Wibi Soerjadi, a Freestyle that is supposed to be Van Grunsven’s new Olympic Freestyle. As of last week, the music even can be downloaded from the website of Soerjadi and Van Grunsven’s own website. For the second year the virtuoso was in Amsterdam to witness the performance of the Freestyle he composed, and for the second year he could celebrate the win! Last year Imke Schellekens-Bartels was the winner, but this year Anky van Grunsven took over the podium.

The Dutch commanded the podium at the FEI Dressage World Cup™ in Mechelen, with Anky van Grunsven, Imke Schellekens-Bartels and Laurens van Lieren taking the top three spots. Anky and her elegant black approved stallion IPS Painted Black were the unexpected winners of the fifth qualifier in the Western European League of the FEI World Cup™ in Mechelen.
