USEF Announces “My Favorite USEF Breed Competition” Contest
(Lexington, KY, USA - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) announces a new contest for 2009 designed to let USEF members vote for their “Favorite USEF Breed Competition.” The idea behind this contest is to award and promote the USEF licensed breed competitions for their efforts in running a show so well that exhibitors want to call it their favorite. Also, this contest gives exhibitors the opportunity to provide positive feedback about the competitions to the USEF.

Hagyard Equine Medical Institute Signs on as Official Veterinary Services Provider for 2009 FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships

USEF Eventing High Performance Lists and Developing Riders List Updated
(USA) - All three Eventing High Performance Training Lists have been updated following the spring competition season. Horse/Rider combinations will be invited to participate in training sessions with Mark Phillips. It is anticipated that training sessions will be held in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, and California; dates to be determined. Some horse/rider combinations will be receiving grants for European competition and training. Grant amounts will be finalized in late July.

Details Regarding the USEF Return to Play Rule now Available Online
(Lexington, KY, USA) – At the 2009 United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Annual Meeting, the USEF Board of Directors passed the ‘Return to Play’ rule. This rule (GR 1317) mandates that any competitor at a USEF licensed competition that is deemed concussed or unconscious (by qualified medical personnel) cannot return to competition until they have been cleared by a medical professional, who will sign and submit a letter to the USEF stating the rider is fit to compete.

Equine Canada Announces Doping Control for all Riders Attending North American Junior and Young Riders Championships
(Canada) - Equine Canada has announced that for the first time, all Canadian riders attending the 2009 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships will be drug tested according to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP).
